We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our team and take ownership of supplier quality across our satellite programs. As an Engineer-to-Order manufacturer managing multiple simultaneous satellite projects under ECSS standards, we need someone who can ensure our supply chain consistently delivers components and assemblies that meet the demanding requirements of the space industry.

As Supplier Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the qualification process for new suppliers, including capability assessments, first article inspections (FAI), and approval decisions
  • Maintain and manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL), including periodic re-evaluation
  • Define and communicate quality requirements to suppliers based on ECSS standards and project-specific needs
  • Drive supplier development initiatives to improve quality performance, delivery, and process maturity
  • Plan and conduct supplier audits (process audits, system audits, product audits) per an annual audit schedule
  • Issue audit findings, track corrective actions to closure, and verify effectiveness
  • Initiate, manage, and track SCARs for non-conforming materials, late deliveries, and documentation deficiencies
  • Ensure suppliers perform thorough root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Maintain SCAR metrics and report trends to management
  • Define incoming inspection processes, plans and acceptance criteria for purchased parts, components, and assemblies
  • Review and approve supplier-provided documentation: Certificates of Conformance (CoC), test reports, material certifications, and inspection records
  • Define, track, and report supplier KPIs (quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness, documentation accuracy)
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality procedures, work instructions, and templates aligned with ECSS and company QMS
  • Support purchase order quality requirement definition, ensuring robust flowdown of applicable standards and specifications
  • Contribute to quality clauses in supplier agreements and contracts
  • Participate in the Material Review Board (MRB) for supplier-related non-conformances

We expect you to:

  • Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in supplier quality within aerospace, defense, or space industry
  • Working knowledge of ECSS standards, AS9100 / ISO 9001
  • Hands-on experience with supplier auditing (ISO 19011 or equivalent methodology)
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (8D, 5-Why, FMEA, Ishikawa)
  • Experience managing SCARs and non-conformance processes
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to travel to supplier sites
  • Fluent English

Nice to have:

  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 / AS9100)
  • Experience with EEE parts qualification, PCB/PCBA supplier quality, or mechanical machining suppliers relevant to satellite hardware
  • Familiarity with ECSS-Q-ST standards (particularly Q-ST-20, Q-ST-30, Q-ST-60)
  • Experience working in an Engineer-to-Order environment with multiple concurrent projects
  • Knowledge of special processes (soldering, welding, bonding, surface treatments) and their qualification requirements (e.g., ECSS-Q-ST-70 series)

Salary

  • Salary starts from 3000 to 4000 gross/ per month
  • The final offer will depend on the level of competencies and experience
